Built Around the Farmer, Not Just the Trade
KITE Agro began as an Erode arecanut trading firm. What we do now is bigger than that — and this page explains why.
Why We Changed Direction
Arecanut, commonly called Pakku in Tamil and Adike (or Adakka) in Kannada, is produced by the Areca catechu palm. Kumar Integrated Trading Enterprise (KITE) started the way most arecanut businesses in Erode District do — sourcing dried Nut directly from farms and moving it on to processors and manufacturers across India. That part of the work continues today.
But the more time we spent on the ground with growers, the more it became clear that price alone wasn't the biggest gap. Farmers we spoke to didn't have a simple way to see how their crop's price actually moved week to week, season to season. They couldn't easily tell which corner of a large plantation was quietly losing yield to disease or pests until it was obvious — and expensive — to fix. And the manure going onto their palms was often generic, not built for what an arecanut palm specifically needs at each stage of its life.
So we rebuilt KITE Agro around those gaps. Trading is still part of what we do — but it's a small part. The larger purpose is giving Areca (Pakku / Adike) growers better information and better inputs, for free where we can, and at fair cost where we can't.
Four Pillars
Rate Transparency
Weekly price ranges for Raw Green Fruit, Ripe Yellow Fruit, Sun-Dried Fruit and Nut — with trend history (currently up to 1 year of data), so you can see the real picture, not just today's number.
Precision Drone Farming
Farm lease inspection is live now — aerial tree counting and gap/stress screening. Disease/pest hotspot mapping and dosage guidance are still coming soon.
Enriched Manure
Organic manure enriched specifically for arecanut's nutrient demands — built to work alongside precision field data, not as a flat, one-size-fits-all input.
Farmer Community
A free, open WhatsApp group for Areca farmers and traders across India to share what's working, ask questions, and stay ahead of problems together.

What Guides Us
- Transparency over persuasion. Real weekly ranges, real trend lines — not a single flattering number.
- Precision over guesswork. Treat the part of the field that needs it, not the whole plantation by default.
- Community over competition. A free, open farmer network — because a healthier Areca-growing region benefits everyone in it.
- Trade as one small piece. We still buy and sell — fairly, and honestly — but it's no longer the headline.
