How it works — 4 easy steps

  1. Tap “Start my record book” and tell us your name and number once. Opened it before on this phone? It goes straight to your records — just tap “Add record”.
  2. Add your fields in My farm — crop and acres. Example: East block · Areca · 2 acres.
  3. Whenever you spend or sell, tap “Add record”. Pick what it is (fertilizer, labour, harvest, sale…), fill it in, tap Save. About 20 seconds.
  4. Open “Summary” to see your spending, income and profit for each crop — worked out for you.

Where are my records kept — and how do I keep them safe?

Saved online, automatically

After every change your records are saved online with KITE Agro under your phone number. Lost or changed your phone? Open this page on the new phone and start with the same number — everything comes back.

Prefer it only on your phone?

Choose Keep only on this phone on the first screen, or later in My farm. Your records then stay only in this phone's browser and work without internet.

Only on this phone: when could they be lost?

If you change or reset your phone, clear Chrome's history / data, uninstall Chrome, or use a private (incognito) tab.

Extra safety: a backup file

Open Excel & print → tap Save backup file → send it to yourself on WhatsApp or Google Drive. To bring it back: Restore from backup.

💡 The Excel file is a nice copy to read, share or print — but only the backup file can be put back into the record book.

Why Tamil Nadu farmers keep farm records

Know your real profit

See what each crop and each acre actually earns after fertilizer, labour, spraying and transport — not just what the sale brought in.

Sell at the right market

Compare the rates you got at Gobi, Bhavani, Perundurai, Erode or a local trader, and when prices were best.

Cut costs that don't pay

Spot where the money goes — labour, fertilizer, sprays — and which inputs did not raise your yield.

Ready for loans and insurance

Written costs, yields and sales make it easier to show your farm's income when you apply for a crop loan or Kisan Credit Card, or to support a crop insurance claim. Ask your bank or insurer what they need.

Plan next season

See which month each cost and harvest came in, so you can plan labour, money and spraying ahead.

Hand over the farm clearly

Family members or a lease farmer can see exactly what was done, spent and earned.

Farm Record Book — Questions

Is the KITE Agro Farm Record Book free?

Yes, completely free, with no ads and nothing to pay later. It works in your phone's browser — nothing to install.

What is a good free farm record keeping app for Tamil Nadu farmers?

The KITE Agro Farm Record Book is made in Erode for Tamil Nadu farmers: it works in Tamil and English, covers the crops grown here (areca, coconut, turmeric, banana, pepper, sugarcane and more) and lists local markets such as Gobi, Bhavani, Perundurai and Erode. It is free and needs no download.

Do I need to download an app from the Play Store?

No. Open kiteagro.in/tools/farm-record-book on any phone and start. To open it like an app, use your browser's “Add to Home screen”.

Which crops does it support?

Areca (pakku), coconut, turmeric, banana, black pepper, nutmeg, cocoa, coffee, mango, jackfruit and sugarcane, each with its own harvest products (for example raw, sun-dried and kotta pakku; coconuts, tender coconut and copra; finger and bulb turmeric; banana bunches), plus “Other / general” for vegetables, fodder and shared costs.

Can I use it in Tamil?

Yes. The full record book, its Excel file and printouts are available in Tamil at kiteagro.in/tools/farm-record-book/ta.

How do I calculate farm profit per acre?

Profit per acre = (income from sales − all expenses) ÷ acres. For example, ₹4,00,000 of sales − ₹1,20,000 of expenses on 2 acres = ₹1,40,000 profit per acre. Add your plots with their acres under “My farm” and the record book works this out for every crop.

How do I record labour wages?

Choose “Labour”, then enter the number of workers, the days and the wage per day — for example 3 workers × 2 days × ₹600 = ₹3,600. The total is added to that crop's expenses.

What farm records should a farmer keep?

Every input bought (fertilizer, manure, seed), labour (workers, days, wage), sprays, irrigation costs, other costs (transport, power, diesel, repairs, lease), pest and disease sightings, each harvest (quantity) and each sale (quantity, rate, market, paid or pending).

Can farm records help with a bank loan or crop insurance?

Clear records of costs, yields and sales make it easier to show your farm's income when you apply for a crop loan or Kisan Credit Card, or to support a crop insurance claim. They do not replace official documents — ask your bank or insurer what they need.

Where are my records saved?

Online with KITE Agro, under your phone number, after every change — and on your phone too. On a new phone, open this page and start with the same phone number: all your records come back. If you prefer, choose “Keep only on this phone” in My farm.

Who can see my records?

You, on any phone where the record book is started with your phone number — so only start it with your own number, on phones you trust. KITE Agro keeps the online copy and may use the records without your name to study farm costs and prices.

Can I download it as Excel or print it?

Yes. “Download Excel” gives an .xlsx file with summary, month-by-month, all records and farm details. “Print” prints your records, or blank pages to fill by hand.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. Once the page is open it keeps working and saving on the phone; the online copy is updated as soon as you are back online.

Does it tell me how much fertilizer to use?

No — it is for keeping accounts. For fertilizer amounts use our Areca or Coconut Fertilizer Calculator, and check spray doses with your local agriculture officer or KVK.
