KITE Agro Areca Farm

Mohit Nagar Areca Plants, Raised from Old Mother Palms

This isn't a typical plant nursery bought in from a wholesaler — it's our areca farm in Erode district, the real field where these Mohit Nagar mother palms have stood and grown for 30 to 35 years and more. The young plants are raised right here on this same farm land.

A palm is planted once and farmed for decades, so the seed it starts from matters. Our Mohit Nagar (Mohitnagar) areca nursery plants are raised from seeds collected from very mature mother palms — trees that are 30 to 35 years old and more — not from young or unknown trees.

These mother palms grow right here in Tamil Nadu's hot and humid climate. They are adapted to our area's weather and time-tested — standing and yielding for 30 to 35 years and more, which you can see with your own eyes.

Many nurseries across the Kongu belt buy their Mohit Nagar seed from here, because these are among the oldest and most mature palms in the region.

Who We Are

Built Around the Farmer, Not Just the Trade

KITE Agro started as an Erode-based arecanut trading firm — but the more time we spent with growers, the clearer it became that the biggest gains weren't in the trade itself. They were in giving farmers better information: what their Areca and Coconut prices actually look like market by market, which part of the field needs attention, and what their palms are really asking for.

Common Questions

Areca, Rates, Drone Farming & Nursery — Answered

Are Areca, Betel Nut, Pakku, Adike, Adakka, Vakka and Supari the same crop?

Yes. Areca is the English/botanical name (Areca catechu), also widely known internationally as Betel Nut. Pakku is the Tamil name, Adike is the Kannada name, Adakka is the Malayalam name, Vakka (or Poka) is the Telugu name, and Supari is the common Hindi/Urdu and pan-India trade name — all for the same palm and its nut. This site uses all these names so growers and traders searching in any of these terms find the same information.

How often are KITE Agro's Areca rates updated?

Twice a week — Gobi mandi on Tuesdays and Bhavani mandi on Fridays. Each report shows a price range (minimum to maximum per kg) rather than a single daily figure, alongside a comparison against last week and — once enough history builds up — the same week last year.

What are the four price stages tracked for Areca?

Raw Green Fruit (unripe, just harvested), Ripe Yellow Fruit (fully ripened), Sun-Dried Ripe Fruit (dried before dehusking), and Arecanut / Nut (also called Kottapakku or Chali — the final dehusked, dried kernel that is traded).

Is drone imaging for Areca farms available yet?

Yes. Areca Drone Survey (surveying your own plantation, pricing from ₹3,999) and Areca Farm Lease Inspection (evaluating a farm before a lease advance) are both available now — aerial view, approximate tree count, gap detection and visual stress screening. Disease/pest hotspot detection and precision dosage recommendation are still in development, building on today's visual stress screening — so treatment can eventually go only where it's actually needed instead of a flat rate across the whole field.

What are Mohit Nagar plants (and trees), and where do the seeds come from?

Mohit Nagar (Mohitnagar) is an areca variety; a Mohit Nagar plant is the young nursery seedling and a Mohit Nagar tree is the full-grown palm. KITE Agro's nursery plants are raised from seeds collected from very mature mother palms, 30 to 35 years old and more. The mother palms grow in Tamil Nadu's hot and humid climate and have stood and yielded here for decades. Many nurseries in the Kongu belt buy their Mohit Nagar seed from these palms, among the oldest and most mature in the region. More than 30,000 plants are available. Ask for plant size and price through the enquiry form.

How many Areca palms fit in one acre?

It depends on spacing. At the common standard of 2.7m × 2.7m, roughly 540–560 palms fit per acre; high-density spacing (2.4m × 2.4m) fits more, wider spacing (3.0m × 3.0m) fits fewer. Use the free Tree Spacing & Count Calculator to get an exact count for your own field dimensions.

How do I join the Areca farmer WhatsApp community?

It's free and open to any Areca, Pakku, or Adike grower or trader in India, not just Erode. The join link is in the site header and the Community section of this page.
